Again? Dems Revive This Ban Bill

Democrats in the House are back to their old tricks after trying and failing to ban air travel and beef with a crazy environmental proposal. Now they’re sticking to what they know and once again trying to ban “assault weapons.”

Democratic Rep. David N. Cicilline has introduced H.R. 1296, otherwise known as the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019.

This latest bill already has 190 co-sponsors from the left and features a some new surprises since the last ban attempt.

The legislation states it “would bar the importation, production, or transfer of 205 firearms by name to include a myriad of semi-auto AR-15 and AK-47 variants.” What’s more, “any semi-auto rifle with a detachable magazine and any ‘military-style feature’ such as a barrel shroud, pistol grip or threaded barrel” would also qualify for the ban. Semi-auto rifles with a fixed magazine “capable of holding more than 10 rounds” would also be in danger.

The previous Assault Weapons Ban was signed by the Clinton administration in 1994 and expired under the Bush administration in 2004.

While this AWB isn’t expected to be signed into law, it opens the conversation for the torrent of gun control initiatives Democrats are pushing through Congress.

Despite liberal whining, reports show that crime actually DECREASED after the initial ban ended in 2004.

Overall “assault weapon” is a manufactured term gun-control advocates flout to inspire fear. There is no substance to their argument, all lawful gun owners need to do is stand firm.
