A new, bipartisan bill looks to give gun owners something to look forward to and is making headway towards its goal.

Introduced in January, proposal S. 94 seeks to bolster the number of gun ranges available on public land and just passed the U.S. Senate.

Currently states are required to match the federal government 25 cents on the dollar before work will commence on a public shooting range. The new bill will lower that requirement to a 90/10 formula making it easier for ranges to be erected.

The bill was a collaboration between Republican Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet. It moves on the the house for consideration.
