Gun Control

Pro-Gun Republican Unseats Anti-Gun Democrat After 40 Years of Control

For the first time in 40 years, a pro-gun Republican was elected in Connecticut’s 53rd district, a district that had been controlled by Democrats for 40 years straight.

Samuel Belsito was elected to his first term in a Special Election and was sworn into office on June 19th, 2013.

He said he would have voted against the recent gun control legislation passed by Connecticut lawmakers.

Samuel Belsito

Guns N Freedom had this to say:

The defeat of an anti-gun candidate flies in the face of what gun grabbers have been saying. Pro-gun candidates are not supposed to able to win elections here, especially in a state that has been overwhelmed with anti-gun agendas.

This election transcends whether or not the candidate was a Republican or Democrat. It was a vote against any who would attempt to limit constitutional and God-given rights of self-protection.

Who knows? Maybe things will turn around in Connecticut after all.

He’s one man in a sea of liberals.Things in Connecticut cannot get better unless the Supreme Court stops them. The liberals will take every gun except a Musket, and they will make it impossible to get the gunpowder or lead to shoot it with.Just my opinion!

    • VERN

Sounds like you’re throwing in the towel John ?

      • John

No way Vern. I am very tired of their BS, but I live in Michigan and we here are a little more pragmatic about gun control here.We accept some gun control, but nothing like Connecticut! I personally don’t like most of what passes as reasonable gun control. Some restriction I’m ok with, but most people in the liberal camp think I’m nuts. I personally don’t like fully automatic rifles because they cost too much to shoot, but I’m not against the private ownership of them.I know how these liberals think, and they believe in group rights, not Individual rights. They will never give up until the Supreme Court rules against them. They would like to alter our Constitution to fit their view of how they want things to be.Remember they are collectivist, not Individualists. Our constitution was framed on the Rights of Man, which is a Individualistic view that framed our constitution.
        Best to You Sir

        • anoesis

You’ve already given up therefore you’ve already been defeated. No stinkin gun grabber has given up the way your comments show you have. If EVERYBODY there thinks the way you do you all might as well just take your guns to the cop station and give them up the same way you have. But remember this: Winners never quit and quitters never win.

        • http://www.supportanddefend.net/ Ken 92629

          John,
          1. I think you mean “semi-automatic”. Fully automatic (aka machine guns) are already heavily regulated.
          2. Article 1 of the Constitution (preceding any amendments) says “To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining (aka training), the Militia, …”. Congress has, essentially, done none of that, but disarming is not a synonym for arming. The Second Amendment elaborates on the composition of the Militia, but doesn’t contradict the responsibility of Congress to arm and discipline.
          3. The Constitution was framed to provide freedom from tyranny, foreign, domestic, and individual – very few “Rights” per se. “Keep and Bear” one of the few exceptions. It doesn’t say “Keep, Bear, and Use Without Discipline”.
          4. The authors of the Constitution debated long and intensively about the proper distribution of arms and responsibility for national and domestic security between a standing army, a national police, and the citizens militias. The present documents represents their conclusions. I don’t think we have any contemporary politicians or citizens who have shown the wisdom to contradict them.

          • tandbergseguy

At the time this was written Regulated was understood universally as well ordered or well maintained. With that information, the rest of the 2nd Amendment makes perfect sense.

        • 1bob

John….your job is to make sure that the Muslim faction are not allowed to enforce Sharia by having a standing Sharia police….Understand Dearborn is a mecca for all things Muslim.

        • JimmyJ

When we allowed the ‘Tommy Gun’ to be banned back in the 20’s or 30’s was the first ‘inch’, now they will not stop untill they have the whole ‘Yardstick’. BUT… WE CAN stop them, it is not over till it’s over. I believe this ‘one case’ may be the start of a new awakening. When I see so many people who are starting to speak out against the Gun Grabbers, I see a positive change on the horizon. (I also think obamas presence is wakeing a Bunch of people up to evil doings in the W.H. and hope the next couple of elections will show a major shift back to what is Right)

          • John

            I hope you’re right JimmyJ

          • tandbergseguy

            JimmyJ:

I too believe the inch we gave away was machine guns. After all if those marauders coming have machine guns, we need them too for self protection. WTSHTF IGYB.

get control of shi666t hole Detroit and that will be gun control…

          • John

The Sheriff of Detroit has come to our way of thinking and said that he wishes more people would get concealed carry permits. That is a big step in the right direction. At one time you couldn’t get a concealed carry permit in Detroit.

          • regulus30

I read that a few weeks ago;; you are right;; this agenda is just like obamacare/tax it is about CONTROLLING “WE THE PEOPLE”; OBANGO KNOWS HE WILL BE TERMINATED if he comes for the weapons.

If most of the estimated 80+ mil legal gun owning citizens would get off their butts and vote against gun grabbing politicians, the democraps wouldn’t win another election.

  • Faucon Noir

The following is a letter I sent to the Democratic Party leadership. There is no need for Americans to be divided on that non-issue. The US Constitution and the 2nd Amendment are very clear!

    “To Whom This May Concern,

I have been a loyal progressive liberal democrat all my life but I am very sorry to say that your stand on the 2nd Amendment and your gun control agenda are deal breakers for me. And, unfortunately, I am not the only liberal who feels that way politically. The gun control extremists have taken hold of the democratic agenda the same way the tea party
nuts have taken control of the GOP. Beware, you may loose the fight you should have never lost from ignoring loyal patriots like me who hold the same progressive values as you do, but with the exception of your gun control stand. We are not an invisible demographic, we are just not as loud as the anti-gun lobby is. My family is a military family, my nephew died from a rifle shot, but we would NEVER dare use our personal tragedy to impose an agenda on the US Constitution. That is repugnant to us. It is time for you to wake up and stop taking us for granted. We are not alone.

    Thank you for your time,

    Patrick Desjardins
    Creative Director”

    • Self-Reliant

As a Tea Party nut, I thank you for your letter. The Tea Party is just doing what true Patriots do when their country is being destroyed or taken over by people that want to control every aspect of peoples lives. The Tea Party has to take over the GOP since it has become the right wing of the Democratic Party, a group that had been taken over by social liberals hell bent on destroying the Constitution.

      • Faucon Noir

Self-reliant, my apologies for the poor choice of words. I felt I could not repeat “extremists” and “nuts” is the first thing that came to mind. However, although I tend to agree with you, I feel that you are over simplifying the present day political landscape. I often say that my political stance would make me a Goldwater Republican and Goldwater a leftist liberal by today’ standards. Many leftist radicals of the 60’s are now right winger neo-cons with an agenda just as hell bent on destroying the Constitution as are the neo-liberals. I believe that the main enemy are hiding in the shadows and are enjoying the political division they have created and continue to nurture. For the record, I am also a staunch supporter of the REAL free market, but not unrealistic enough to believe that civilization can endure by putting all the social responsibilities on the back of the free market. Businesses should never, by choice or by mandate, bear the burden of anyone’s health care.
        But that is another topic.

        • a_browning

So, how have your views affected your voting? If you still vote democrat, you are still voting against yourself.

          • Faucon Noir

a_browning . . . good point! That is why I have been in limbo on that issue for several years. Fact is, I do not any see party reflecting my value at this point. I see divisions and fanaticism on all sides. I see partisanship and internalized hatred instead of understanding and cooperation. I do not trust the media, be it from one side or the other. I see the same rhetoric of alienation from the left or the right. I have been told once that I was not a liberal if I did not hate guns. I also was told by a republican friend that I should not possess an assault rifle, why did I need one? And he was not a rino! No, anyone who falls prey to this game of mirror and blame is being played in the worst way. Not me, I am on point, not to educate and clarify what is real and true to those Americans who are still fighting each other (about issues that will never be resolved because they will never be allowed to be resolved) but to search for and identify that shadowy adversary who pulls all the strings. Divide and conquer. The real enemy is laughing at all of you. It controls both sides of the equation. Let the liberals and the conservatives blame and fight each other in the popular arena. The enemy loves it! Americans will always disagree, that is a healthy sign of a healthy Democracy or a Republic. But that is not what is being fueled here and now. So, I still see myself to be a progressive liberal by MY OWN standards and not by anyone else standards. Progressive= accepting the concept and engine of progress with responsibility. Liberal= embracing and protecting the ideals of individual and social freedom and liberty.
Be well and watch your back.

          • http://www.supportanddefend.net/ Ken 92629

Very Well Said! Neither “Party” is seeking the “general Welfare” as listed in the Preamble. It would be nice if someone really, really rich could build a “Constitutional” Party that could elect, say, ten percent of Congress. Just enough to keep either existing party from having a majority and forcing collaboration (not compromise, collaboration).
conservative (n.b. lower case c) =believing in the value of established and traditional practices in politics and society

          • a_browning

Stay safe and keep your powder dry.

          • James Seidel

So if you understood the devil, or let’s say obama, you would agree, compromise, and cooperate? No mention of democracy in Our Constitution. That’s why you are a J.A.

          • Elson Snider

I, simply review their voting records on, the issues that is crippling America( Democrat or Republican) enough said!!

          • Buckindaburg

Faucon Noir…..the division of ideologies is not determined by one’s stance on the 2nd amendment. The progressive/liberal agenda would not matter if it rested on that sole issue…..it is the mentality that a liberal seems to assume that he/she knows better what is good for everyone, better than anyone else. That includes all from diet to which car to drive and from many issues regarding marriage, right to life, and above all….entitlements aimed at guaranteeing equal outcome.
While it is old and long out of print, it would serve most very well if they could find a copy of J. Edgar Hoover’s “Masters of Deceit,” read it digest it. It certainly applies to much of what is taking place in America today.

          • charlie

and he should know JEH was a master of deceit and many other evil things

          • Buckindaburg

Charlie….please offer your critique on the book, rather than the man.. It…the book…explains in very clear terms, the processes by which governments are taken over. As the old saying goes, most people enjoy good sausage, but few actually enjoy the making of same.
I referred Faucon or anyone else, to the book strictly on the basis of it’s contents….I did not endorse the author.

          • Landshark

I understand. You are a Liberal in the original concept of the term. I don’t know who stole the brand and gave it to the Democrat Party. But the labels, Progressive and Liberal, are misnomers as far as today’s Dem. leadership is concerned. The current trend is more akin to regression to the days of elite rule and total subservience to the elite. We are and have been beyond rule by conceited sophisticates. And We, the People, are far from “progressing” to the point of giving government a “liberal” hand in directing us on how to live every aspect of our existence. And we will damn sure not allow the current, or any other administration to disarm us and leave us to the will of The New World Order or to the whim of Islam.
As Ben Franklin once said of Patriots, no matter our idiosyncrasies ,” We must all hang together, or surely, we will be hanged alone.”
May peace be with you. If it will not be, may your aim be true. Semper Fi!

          • Faucon Noir

My very thoughts. Thank you. God bless you and yours.

        • rifflizard

I find myself having to agree with both Democrat (liberal) and Tea Party “extremist” These are NOT my words. However if both of the parties which bicker back and forth in Washington all day could present themselves and there legislative outcomes as Self_Reliant and Faucon Noir have here, we would have ourselves one FANTASTIC government!

          • meyati

I recently received a letter from the national democratic party-On the front it showed a pic of Obama and asked-do you have my back? I wrote “NO”
and return to sender. I didn’t like Obama for various reasons- I was called a ‘racist’ My doctor is “Black” African-American-whatever. My son is a disabled vet. The VA spent about 2 years trying to make me turn my guns into them. The VA gave up.
I’m in a dilemma because all of my Democrat Congress people are gun owners and they use them. They respect the 2nd Amendment.
My Blue state has a Republican governor-and it was based on gun control. I think of going independent-but I do want to vote for people that seem the friendlist to a state full of gunslingers and pistoleros. I hate the way they say that the NRA doesn’t represent me. I’m 72 years old, and I prefer long guns. I am a female Democrat. I am the NRA.

          • pudge1

Good for you Meyati. I think you and Faucon have “dis-covered” our prob. This is what our politicians have failed to understand. We are a diverse group and must be brought together by the Constitution. They make it impossible to trust any of them.

          • Kevin Jankoski

Ok I am a disabled vet, and I volunteer at the VA, never has the VA tried to confiscate any guns, they are prohibited by law from trying to do so, I would love to see some proof of this alleged crime by the VA? Why would the VA ask you to turn your guns in to them because your son is a disabled veteran? That is such an off the wall statement. Obama has however instructed all VA mental health physicians to report any servicemen who seek mental health counseling through the VA ( once discharged) to the NICS system so that they will be on the can not purchase list for firearms………I want to thank all the Democrats that voted for a guy that had never run anything but a corrupt community organizing organization for President of the United States of America, thanks also to the tea baggers for fracturing the party and causing Mitt Romney to loose by the amount of Tea Baggers fracturing the party…..numbers don’t lie

          • James Holloway

Don’t buy into the propaganda machine Kevin! Romney didn’t lose! The number required to win that election was only 2% and that is the margin of error least likely to be subjected to scrutiny through ballot manipulation. Had a professional computer tabulation expert demonstrate why we should have never gone to computers to vote. Too easy to manipulate and erase or add data. I’m disabled as well, but did not have the opportunity to serve as you have done. Thank You for that, but I try my best to get on top of info that is shaded or slanted because of the very problems you have pointed out. I am a Tea Party member and I can assure you that we did not take the vote from Romney, because many of us did vote for him, we saw through the smoke an mirrors. Don’t believe what he papers tell you ad only a portion of what you find on the net. Today Obama has given the net away. So how is that doing to help us get the truth of anything anywhere. I’m fighting it and not going to stand for it. It isn’t his to give away!

          • setemfree

We must elect people that are willing to follow the Constitution. Parties should be done away with. If you are against the Constitution in any way you are not American and what are Constitution stands for.. Get out of office you damn Nazis.

          • Kevin Jankoski

James exit polls dont lie tea baggers voted overwhelmingly for Ron Paul the tea party is the ross perot of modern politics all you do is kill the rights hopes, its like I have told my liberal lefty friends for years, you dont like the nra? Fine show upafter getting 2 million leftys to become nra members then show up at the annual convention and vote in your slate of officers and within 2 years the nra would be done you dont change things by fracturing the very strength of your argument you strengthen your argument from within the party

          • Elson Snider

Kevin, Obama has done nothing, but bring our country, to it’s knees! Our military is weaker, than it’s ever been, we have lost more jobs under him, then any President, since the great depression, he’s added over 30% to the entitlement leaches, spent more then the previous 4 presidents combined, and what do we have to show for it! We’re becoming a third world nation! Just name one thing, that he’s done to help our country, and if you say obamacare, I’ll puke in my own mouth! And, I’m a independent!!

          • alf564

Just remember his up bringing and you will understand why he does what he does and why he is doing it. Bringing the so called “Colonial Power America” to its knees is his plan and he is carrying it out perfectly. He has the assistance of almost all Mainline news ((except FOX)) and the elected democrat reps. I do not see any improvement in the future…now he is giving the internet away and I will guarantee most democrat senators and congressmen will vote YES !!

          • Conrad Gabbard

Elson, Glenn Beck, while on FoxNews, reported that Obama once lectured n the Cloward-Piven Strategy of Organized Crisis (easily confirmed) and seems to be applying that “strategy” – on steroids – to his proposals, Regulations and appointments.
Sheik Yermami, Islamic scholar: “No one with even the vaguest awareness of Obama’s background would be surprised to see him seize on his opportunity to destroy the American military.” On Egypt TV, Jan. 7, 2012
(Retired Army Major General Patrick Brady recently said that Obama is “intent on emasculating the military” and that he’ll “fire anyone who disagrees with him.”)
We’d serve our progeny and nation well to stop arguing among ourselves and help put people in office who will end the madness being tolerated by BOTH Parties!

          • Sharon

Why must you refer to TEA Party members as a disgusting homosexual innuendo?

          • Kevin Jankoski

What the hell are you talking about homosexual? Lady your on the wrong website I am talking about the idiots that fractured the republican party the tea baggers, you know the one exit polls show voted for the guy with no chance in hell of winning cause he is a whimp and viewed that way internationally Ron Paul all the tea baggers did was give Mitt Romneys votes to Ron Paul and the Presidency to a complete moron who couldnt even organize communities……… what the hell are you talking about you know what I dont want to know go over to the deviants site this is a political site…..the rest of you tea baggers that keep saying we voted for Mitt Romney exit polls have a funny way of ringing true because they are taken as people leave the polls and as I have found out first hand people either tell you its none of your business or they are so proud they tell you the truth 87% of the tea baggers voted Ron Paul you fractured the GOP and handed Obama the election and you are responsible for everything you have allowed Obama to do by handing Obama a second term you reap what you sew

          • Landshark

Kevin, Tea Baggers is a homosexual term insulting applied by Communists/Democrats to true patriots. One reason Romney lost was the failure of over four million Americans to vote at all out of frustration. Another was voter fraud. I agree with much of the Tea Party ideology, I voted for Romney. The fact of the matter is, Obama is getting away with killing this nation because a cowardly Congress refuses to do their duty as does the Military, all of whom have sworn an oath to protect and defend the very document he is destroying, piece by piece.

          • Conrad Gabbard

Kevin, I was discharged with 80% LoD permanent disability in 1973 after 3 RVN tours. My family has voted Dimocrat since the Civil War and I was a registered Dimocrat until the 2008 primaries where I voted for the unknown over what I knew of Hillary, then went looking for another political home based on firm, American principles. I was quite surprised to learn that I’ve been a libertarian all my life and just didn’t know it.
You apparently have no idea what the Tea Party is and you’re looking for someone to blame for McCain’s and Romney’s poor showings. As a child I saw what happened to kids who wouldn’t fight: they got whipped and humiliated. McCain shut down Palin – who could have won for them; Romney wouldn’t engage, wouldn’t peel the ugly from Obama’s policies. When challenged by Obama on Russia, he shut up instead of pointing out the ignorance of Obama’s mentors, like communist agitator (and likely Obama’s genetic father) Frank Marshall Davis, among others. When (falsely) countered by the fat moderator, he shut up instead of telling her to get the show’s prodicer to google up the reality. Romney hadn’t the stomach for the fight.

          • Landshark

Kevin, I agree with some of what you say. I cannot argue on the point of VA seeking to have firearms confiscated, as they have yet to come after mine and I know no one personally who has had theirs confiscated. I have heard of it.The current administration is hellbent to confiscate firearms from all private citizens, and are looking for every angle they can find to achieve that end. Obama’s once Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has branded all returning Veterans from current global conflicts as “potential terrorists” I am counting on you and everyone in a position to do so, to alert us when the VA is instructed to take such action. Semper Fi!

          • rifflizard

Great post meyati! I have been a registered Republican, a registered Democrat and now am an Independent. I`ve come to learn there really isn`t much difference between the Reps and Dems. They just make it look that way to keep you and I and the rest of their nest eggs blinded to what`s really going on. They have taken this country from us, bankrupted us, and our childrens children. And now it appears as if they are going to crash the dollar and will put and end to Americas money as world currency. We are the next 3rd world country. I can`t stand Obamonkey for what he is finishing that Bush started! Bush was just as bad as Obamonkey as far as spending at taking away our freedoms.

You are representative of the “Dems” we disagreed with and worked with and respected as I grew up. We ate together, discussed and disagreed but looked at what we had in common and watched the 4th of July fireworks together. You believe in the Constitution and in the rights of the individual over that of the EMPIRE. You believe and act upon the foundations of the Republic. I grew up with a Dem Governor and a Republican State Legislature and they got along and accomplished a lot. Please don’t stop spouting off, I support you and will disagree at times but we both know what the real end game is really about. . . US and us, or “We the People”.

          • Elson Snider

Just, watch how, you democrat congress people votes, on key issues, like gun control, freedom of speech, unrestricted trillion dollar budget increase, immigration etc, if they voted for theses issues, they shouldn’t be your democrat congress people!!!!11

          • turee60

Voting independent will just give votes to the Democrats what you need to do is vote for a Tea Party Republican!

          • rodrob43

            I’ll second that suggestion Turee60!

          • rodrob43

I can hang in there with you Meyati. My parents were life-long Democrats who thought the world of FDR. I’ve voted Democratic in almost every election since I was eligible to vote. I did vote for “W” however. The Demo’s didn’t run anyone worth a crap, and I didn’t vote for HHH when he ran for office years ago. But this new bunch of Demos are socialistic; they want to crush our Constitution and restrict our rights and put us under the New World Order of the UN. I would rather see the UN trashed and moved out of this country. 90% of the countries represented are communist or dictatorships. Why in the world would our country want to be part of that and have them determine our standard of living. Agenda 21 and the gun treaty that Obama has signed.
I too am a member of the NRA and have a concealed carry permit and am over 70. I love to shoot, don’t hunt much anymore even though I’d like to. I shoot weekly either at my club or at my indoor (basement) 25 yard .22 range. I grew up with a father and uncle who hunted and owned firearms, they had me shooting a Crosman pellet rifle by the time I was 5. I’m not a great shot, but I do love it, and I will not let non-gunners take my guns! Don’t forget to not only support the NRA, but also the Second Amendment Foundation.

          • jane hyden

But this new bunch of Demos are socialistic; they want to crush our Constitution and restrict our rights and put us under the New World Order of the UN. could you provide proof of this from an unbiased source?????????????????????????????????

          • rodrob43

Well Jane, I think all you have to do is read comments on this article: if you want more exact info, look under some of his executive orders, look at his sanctioning of private armies by NSA, IRS, DHS, and others. He signed the UN Gun treaty (which has not been ratified by the senate), he is in favor of Agenda 21 (which is a New World Order), he has written executive orders on gun ownership limiting who can buy and possess. His spending is outrageous. We’re rapidly approaching insolvency if we haven’t reached it already.

Actually, this is a difficult question to answer, since there are so many internet myths that claim he has spent more than all other presidents. Such myths are partisan (Republican) rhetoric spread by talk show hosts and some of the president’s political opponents. It should be noted that both Republicans and Democrats make claims (often exaggerated) about each other’s candidates, especially during a presidential campaign, but these assertions are rarely factual.

In comparing President Obama’s spending with other presidents, it is important to look at the circumstances: Most non-partisan fact-checking organizations have noted that much of the spending for which Mr. Obama was later blamed occurred under President Bush; for example, a 19% increase in spending in Mr. Obama’s first year was the result of Bush-era policies (including a massive spending bill) that were already in place when Mr. Obama became president. That said, President Obama has indeed added to the deficit since then, sometimes due to efforts to jump-start the economy. Some of these efforts were successful, but others were not. While both parties have different views about government spending, it is not accurate to say Mr. Obama spent more than all other presidents, nor even that he spent an outrageous amount, given the severe economic crisis the country was in. I enclose a link to an objective analysis of President Obama’s spending, showing what he did that worked, and what he did that was not so effective.

Jane. That is not the one and only issue, and I am certain there are those with better knowledge on the issue than I, who will show you what and where Oblamer has done to our economy. If you want facts on the other issues, please, read the Constitution and review the new kings actions concerning appointments. operations of the NSA, IRS, BATF&E, and DOJ, and DHS. Freedom and Liberty are at stake here. And if you won’t do your own research, I doubt anyone here can help you.

          • jane hyden

i dont need any help thank u.i am quite capable of finding the FACTS. as soon as i posted the facts you moved on to something else. it rained today-its obama’s fault, i had a flat tire -its obama’s fault. my cat pissed on the rug…..its obama’s fault. its always obama’s fault no matter what it is….i can refute your statements but i just dont want to take the time cause you will just argue against the FACTS like u are now. i do agree w u about the nsa .i dont think he should be spying on usa. i am woman enough to admit that. hes not perfect and no president has ever been perfect.remember bush lol. you really look foolish calling him out of his name which is PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA. have a good day. really. i am through wasting my time—i dont like banging my head against the wall trying to get you to admit the truth. . take care.

          • Landshark

Here’s some truth for you Jane. Barack Hussein Obama, regardless his true citizenship, political party, religion, is out to ruin the only close as you can get to free nation in the world. Enablers such as you have allowed the putrid bastard and his Communist and Muslim cronies to have a nearly free hand at destroying the Constitution and every freedom built on it’s guarantees. He is a fraud and a lying coward kept illegally in office by an equally lying and cowardly Congress. He is merely Pretender-in-Chief.
            Please, see a Doctor.

          • joebabe

Jane, Seems like you have been banging your head against the wall for too long. ……..Too many patriots…not enough walls. give it up! You make new readers to this thread realize that you are stuck on stupid .. Aren’t you embarrassed? Here are some Facts. include The signing of the UN Small Arms Treaty, signing a Nuclear Start Treaty with Russia, giving back to Russia some of the oil-rich islands that were part of the Seward Alaska Purchase, Shrinking our Military to pre-WW2 numbers. slowly eliminating our Tomahawk and Hell-fire missile producing ability (all the while our potential enemies are increasing their military might),; stonewalling the Keystone Pipeline,…… Let’s not even start with his foreign policy or the mis-handling of the Mid-East political fiasco called Arab Spring;. or the crony capitalism of the various Stimulus bailouts for favored corporations. Notice I have not discussed the facts behind Benghazi, Fast and Furious; IRS special handling of corporations and organizations or NSA spying, etc., etc., etc.
Where have you been hiding ? Or are you growing mushrooms in your basement? And PULEZZE……stop blaming it on President Bush, or the T axed E nough A lready Party. BTW, name- calling is not allowed or taken seriously. Just saying

          • rifflizard

Read up on Agenda 21, a U.N. document Obama has signed to basically give this country to the U.N., disarms the U.S.A. and gives total armed control to the U.N. Along with 500,000 square miles of U.S. territory so called wildlife refuse? REALLY. Like I`m gonna believe that. How about govt. controlled health insurance? Is that socialist enough. How about taking away our Constitutional rights. The last two things any communist or fascist Government did to become communist was take away the peoples arms and initiate government run health care. Is the picture becoming any clearer? Google it jane, unless you think google is a right wing biased source. Of course if you do that, you`ll have to read something that in your mind you won`t accept.

          • turee60

Tea Party extremeist? What? Are you nuts? It is not extremeist to believe in the constitution and love capitalism and disslike Socialism when Hitler was Socialist!

        • tandbergseguy

          Falcon Noir:
Do you even know what the TEA Party is? TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY!

      • Jennifer LaBonte

Self-Reliant I agree with when it comes to calling Tea Party members ‘nuts’. Surely there was another word that could be used that was more diplomatic. I feel that Faucon Noir explained his views well, so I am happy to drop the whole matter. I guess I’m somewhat ‘touchy’ b/c I do belong to a Tea Party & I have been hearing all sorts of complaints from people who do not have the faintest idea what this group is all about. These people making the complaints are intelligent enough not to say the things that they have. However, it may be that this is how the Tea Party will always be viewed by others. (TEA=Taxed Enough Already.I’m sure you are aware of this.)

        • BillyBaloo

Both you and self reliant are way over simplifing things. First both of you read and listen to too much liveral news…. and believe it. These people are taking you down the tube. There are now TEA Party Nuts. I trust niether of you have even attended a TEA Party Meeting. I am a member and we are not nuts and are only trying to save our country from luike warm liberals like yourselves and nut like the rest of the democrats.

How many US Constitution courses have you taken in the last 5 years? If you want you to study the Constitution there is a course being taught on the web, free of charge at :https://online.hillsdale.edu/
It is free of charge and you can go to their archive to watch what you have missed.

          • Kevin Jankoski

Classes on the constitution? You have got to be kidding me right……you dont need a class in less English is your second language! I give speeches on the US Constitution! Classes on the US Constitution are taught by people that want you to to buy into their version of the Constitution read it yourself……its an easy read……I carry a 30 year old pocket version. Although my talks center on the second Amendment, many times I talk about the 8th Amendment that guarantees bail to prepare for your trial, it is unconstitutional to be denied bail, no where in the Constitution does it say you can be denied bail. The constitution also says there shall be no Federal Police Force so the FBI, Homeland security, DEA, and all the others while some are necessary, none are allowed by the constitution. My point, do not take a class, read it yourself! You know this used to be necessary to graduate High School.

          • Jennifer LaBonte

Kevin Jankoski, I couldn’t help myself, I simply had to respond to you. I have not taught any courses on our Constitution…supposedy our current prez has; however, there are many intelligent people who take the time to take classes. I too have a pocket version of our Constitution; however, I would prefer to have someone explain it to me. Don’t know if you know who Shane Krauser is…but he has taught some courses in in the area where I live. He’s a very knowledgeable man & you can learn from him just by listening to him.

          • Kevin Jankoski

            Ms. LaBonte,
I simply do not mean to offend you but being politically correct is…..well bullshit Mam. I have never met a Constitutional Professor that didnt want to throw his liberal views on to his teachngs. That is what has happend to our country it started in all the schools with the liberal ass professors, and Mam, well thats…….bullshit. I am 50 years old, school for me meant learning the pledge of allegience, it meant saying a prayer in school for a moment after the pledge, we were taught the United States Constitution it meant joining the United States Army after High School and serving my country in war. Mam, I know the document every last line. People need to read the document for themselves, they need to interpret the law themselves so that they could represent themselves if need be. We live in the greatest country on earth but the Lib-Tards are trying to make us a socialist society the best way they found to do it was to control the schools, and dumb down the knowledge of our Constitution keep the people in the blind about what they can and cant do, then let a President that is elected even though he has never run a single business but give him control of the largest corporation in the world, the US Economy. Then let him pass non-free speech zones, let him lie to our troops, telecast the exact dates they will be leaving war zones and let him go on an apology tour. Let him develop bigger government designed to control Americans from the cradel to the grave. Start an insurance program that he PROMISES you can keep your plan and Doctor, then well I lied, his entire course of action designed to destroy the vey fabric of our Constitution. His wife Ms. fat Ass wants to lecture kids on their weight, bt in secret she treats her secret service detail like they were her servents, she openly keeps a hostile tounge to the military attachment at the white house………People need to read the damn document to know what this man is doing to our Country that so many have bled for and died for.

          • Jennifer LaBonte

Kevin I cannot say that I do not agree with most that you said. I’ve got you beat by nearly 10 yrs b/c I’m 69 & will be70 in May. When I went to school we said the Pledge of Allegiance along with a prayer before classes. Even though I took a Constitution course in high school & then took another in college; I was expected to take a test on the Constitution & pass with flying colors before I began my teaching job, I never have thought that I couldn’t learn enough about our Constitution. I have read the Constitution also; however, I am always willing to listen to others who know more than I do. I feel that we never stop learning. IMHO, I feel that the young people today are being dumbed down & it disturbs me b/c they do not have any idea what is happening around them & when all falls in on them they will probably not know the difference. I did not serve my country in the military, & yet I feel that the men & women who served our country should be remembered & thanked for their service. You seem to feel that I have no understanding of all that you said. I probably understand more than you think that I do.

          • Jennifer LaBonte

Kevin, I just received this in my email. This is regarding what is happening in CT & yet I felt that you might be interested in this message. I have a feeling that you will agree with what was said. I do not know Benjamin Smith, other than he’s a Seal & a Veteran & one person amongst many that we should thank for their service.

            Benjamin Smith (SEAL Veteran)

A State Government (CT) seeks to physically take our guns and 1st and 2nd
amendments from its own citizens without any Constitutionality. Know that YOU
ARE NOT ALONE, America is with you!

Our so called movement leaders feel safe to talk the tough talk and regale
on the tumult of the times we live….. but will you stand firmly and speak
straight when it is time to back up the claims we make, most wont…. Will
You? Will you stand your ground knowing your outcome is grim and most likely
fatal? Would you fight knowing you will fall, never seeing the glory for which
you fought (but you will have peace, are we already fighting in spiritual
chains?)…. Would you give up everything, your life for the idea we call Freedom
and Liberty….. not in suicide, but in American Glory! The second amendment is a
serious one. People died for this idea to even exist let alone be remembered by
us today because they wouldn’t give up their guns when they were told to so. Lexington
and Concord are case and point…… it wasn’t just one person, an individual……
these were men of purpose who quickly formed up and just went knowing full well
that they might die that day with Free Will and God in their heart.

We may be called to serve that duty because they have compelled us to the
separation….. Remember your oath!!!! Might you be called to kill for it? What
does the BILL OF RIGHTS mean to you?

(aside) Military men, you know this in spades….. you have been there.
Educate the people around you, be the leader you swore an oath to be!!!!!!!!

“ In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind
him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” Thomas Jefferson

We can’t be alone in this, we have to come to each others aide. An unjust
act demands a measured and just response so overwhelming it could turn from
conflagration to politics to melee and retaliation in the instant it begins.
They want you divided to separate you. They will come to your individual houses
and take you with a squad knowing we will let it happen in our own
neighborhoods and do nothing. We have to let them know that unconstitutional or
tyrannical acts will be met with the full force of the second amendment itself!
This will get ugly real fast.

Its not in the news because they (who are they anyway? Fascism, Communism –
both Socialism and Marxism) know what happens if you WAKE A SLEEPING GIANT……
shhhhh… they got really messed up the last time they tried to take us in WW2.
With stories like this being squelched….. might it be time to dust of your
weapons and see if they still work?….see if we can find the hero we have been
calling for……. He has been within us all along…. It is you, and everyone else
all around you that have to survive as well…. Its us, WE ARE THE SLEEPING
            GIANT!

Have a response team (of friends, citizens ….PATRIOTS) that moves to respond
or even your neighborhood to take the long shots (old people can shoot too…..
know your neighbors and find their plan and work together, know what they
believe and think. Yes, we may become involved in something that has us not
lasting long at all, we probably wont even survive but understand people will
see this as one of those times that changed the direction of History itself. By
guns, Politics or character assassination we will all take extreme hits from
all directions but would you take the glory of standing for what you believe
WITH YOUR LIFE?!?! To the solitude of chains????

“Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say ‘what
should be the reward of such sacrifices?’ Bid us and our posterity bow the
knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the
avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our
blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than
liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go
from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the
hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity
forget that you were our countrymen!” – – Sam Adams

Tyrannical law and Unconstitutional acts are to be met with the ferocity of
is natural manure at the foot of the Tree of Liberty! This will not stand! This
is virtually uncovered in the big media, even on national television and FOX,
this issue is one to unite us to 100 years more of quasi-peace or plunge us
into a civil revolutionary war (Up vs. Down vs. Right vs. Left vs. what is left
of Americanism). You have no chance If you do nothing. If what you are doing is
not working, do something else…. DO ANYTHING ELSE!!!

My prediction – In the end of this stifled circus we will see the
authorities back off. This is a tactic to see if we will stand and push back.
It they know that we will not, they will start to roll on us hard from here
knowing we will fold. We usually do, ….if not in the immediacy, we usually let
our guard down eventually. There is such a concept as being “to free”. If they
see that we are together and will stand, they will stand down and be in the
periphery until they feel they can have another go at us. It’s the way bullies
and communism have worked since its beginning. I think and pray and hope with
all my might that these people retract from this treasonous behavior, and when
they do, we come after them with everything we can to take them from office by
vote or any means necessary because un-American becomes Treason when you they
actively, visibly and provably come to enslave you, that’s all they want
            really. Its simple. ……

Kevin, I owe you an apology! By a earlier post, I interpreted, that you were glad that Obama was president! And I couldn’t see how anybody, in their right mind, would be glad of that…………………………my apologies Sir!

          • setemfree

I believe you had to memorize the Constitution, but that was many long years ago. You also had to salute the flag and say the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. EVERY MORNING.

          • Jennifer LaBonte

BillyBaloo, If you read my response to self-reliant you have to realize that I’m also a member of a TP & am involved in what they do. You asked about Constitution classes. Our TP is just starting on their 5th course in the Constitution. BTW, I’m most family with the link that you sent b/c I have gone through that program & FYI I attended Hillsdale College in MI.

          • rodrob43

Hillsdale College also provides a free class on the Constitution.

        • Washington22

The picture of WHO we are { the TP } has been painted by the Demon-crats. They have defined us, and successfully, I might add. Time to go full bore on changing the concept for all of America…..which is who we represent. The imbeciles just don’t know it.

          • Jennifer LaBonte

That sounds like a good plan to me. However, for the most part the people who have been most critical of the TP are registered Republicans. They have this fear that we have plans to start another party. In addition, they are totally ignorant when it comes to the TP. I have asked them on many occasions if they knew what went on at meetings & even though they do not have the slightest idea they have been quick to criticize the group that they have no idea of who they are or what they do. I have made an offer to sent these same people the Aims & Objects of our group & immediately these people back down. I have lost friends & relatives over this. Our conversations usually ends with, “Just you wait & see the TP is going to bring this country down.” I have laughed at those comments & yet after awhile, It gets rather old. As far as I’m concerned these folks who are criticizing the TP are ignorant & all they want to do is to start an argument or complain..

          • setemfree

Republican for 46 years and now ashamed. TP go ..you stand for our Constitution not what these Demorats and Rinos want.

          • azjen

setemfree: Looks as though we are pretty much in the same position. My husband & I are considering becoming Independents & yet it’s a big consideration b/c we have always been loyal Republicans. Our 2 senators in AZ, McCain & Flake, are not what we consider good senators. As far as that goes, they are merely RINOS.

          • setemfree

In N.Y.S. you have to be either a demorat or Republican or you cannot vote in the primaries so i still remain as a registered Republican so i can vote in primaries but i tell everyone that i am no longer a Republican because i no longer want to be another Demorat.

          • setemfree

            FULL BORE.. Inforce the Constitution.

      • BillyBaloo

just remember, if we give up our right to bare arms we will loose every right.

        • manstrom

There’s nothing stopping you from baring your arms. Just don’t be carrying a weapon at the time.

      • Kevin Jankoski

How dare you ” THE GOP HAS BECOME THE RIGHT WING ARM OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY” Mitt Romney would be president today if not for the Tea Party nut jobs, why are you nut jobs? Because you are the Ross Perot of politics, you represent just under 1/3rd of the voting public but predominantly conservative republican voters, so all you can ever really do is hand elections to the Democrats. I have been a lifelong Republican, never have I been a party to the Democrats agenda, you Damned Ron Paul supporters forced another four years of Obama on us by stealing Mitt Romney votes in the primaries, causing a huge delay to the GOP being able to unite behind one candidate. Why dont you tea baggers take your meds come to your senses and rejoin the party that actually believes in the constitution instead of acting like the high school nerds that spend their days planning revenge against the jocks.

        • setemfree

Kevin.. I feel sorry for someone like you that does not keep up to date with what is being done to our nation. You and many others would never write like that if you were to stand up for our Constitution instead of just a party.

      • curmudgeon

I totally agree with you. Savage is right when he states that liberalism is a mental disorder.

    • Ty

I too am a registered democrat, although I just changed my voter registration party to ‘unaffiliated’. Mostly due to the gun control agenda of the national democratic leadership and in my home state of Colorado. I wonder how many of us there are?

      • Faucon Noir

More than than the general public realizes and the media reports. They paint all 2nd Amendment supporters as low life rednecks with penis envy and paranoid pre-dispositions to hatred. Nice! These gun control proponents ignore statistical data and basic logic in their blind hatred of gun owners. There is no sense loosing time trying to reason and have an intellectual conversation with them. I have tried. some, believe or not are registered Republicans!

      • 1bob

And you have your work cut out for you in Colorado….that state has become a progressive bastion, much to the dismay of the ranchers and old-time Coloradans. One new requirement for you is to learn a second language, muy rapidamente.

      • Washington22

Ty, how do you feel about LGBT, illegals and the run away spending in WDC ? I’d be curious to know if it’s just the 2nd amendment…………and how do you feel about Obamacare and the way it became law? Do you object at all ?????

        • Ty

I’m a strong supporter of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights. I support LGBT rights and same-sex marrage (or something equivalent). I would like to see current immigration laws reformed and then enforced. I like the fact that obamacare puts healthcare into the reach of those that previously couldn’t get it but the way it was rammed through the legislature is a travesty. I’m not opposed to taxing the ultra wealthy, but sickend by the decline of the middle class and blatant re-distribution of wealth. I am against a socialist/welfare state. I am pro-choice. I am not a religious person, but do consider myself a moral person. I am a member of the NRA and other gun-rights and conservations organizations and love to hunt. I really consider myself a moderate progressive with conservative leanings. I am outraged at our federal deficit and dept and the wastful spending of our tax money. I am against giving billions of federal aid to countries when we have such large deficits and infratructure issues in our own country.

          • Washington22

Hm, where to start. I hope others will jump in because I’m bright, NOT brilliant………The homo issue is touchy for many of us…..both because of our belief in God’s word or not………Personally, if they want to live in sin and form a contract in the courts, I don’t mind……I want them to have their own word for it because it’s NOT “marriage”.. I’m sick of them fighting for “their” rights while being repulsive and expecting the rest of us to accept them. We are perfectly willing to let them live their vile lives in PRIVATE so long as we don’t have to be involved.
You don’t specifically say how you’d like immigration laws reformed so I guess we can’t discuss it as yet…………But do you welcome being invaded by them and then supporting them with schools and college at tax payers expense ? and the list goes on……
Health care.do you believe the numbers of those not covered and what has been done to America to see to it that they are…..and as it turns out, they still aren’t covered ? The lie isn’t workiing. Our entire medical system is in trumoil and America is losing…………
I don’t question you other reasons specifically because some things are such a personal decision.

I would speak to the wealth/middle class issue, but at another time……Blessings to you Ty and I hope you’ll continue to search your views, as we all do daily, to see if there are more issue that we actually agree on………….This is the type of discussion that does Not happen in WDC and it sis so healthy, I think………Blessings to you, Ty..

Thank you. You are right, It was a poor choice of words on my part. Truth be told, I have been waiting a long time for a third party. My only concern is that “we don’t get fooled again” I am 66 years old and I am very worried about the future of this great country.

        • http://www.facebook.com/sstephaniew stephanie wilson

amen, you are very welcome sir. i feel for ya.

        • n2cx2x

          We all are

    • BillyBaloo

Friend, the TEA Party is not your problem. They are your denfender, it is the liberals both republicans and democratcs. They will take all your God given rights if you let them. I guess you must be part of the problem if you are not part of the solution! Thank God for people, Tea Party and otherwise who are fighting the liberal agenda and the Obama agenda,

      • doodledandy

        Thanks BillyBaloo, My thoughts exactly!

      • http://www.supportanddefend.net/ Ken 92629

Billy… : When the Tea Party first started, I jumped to the conclusion they were a modern emulation of the original Boston Tea Party group, intent on restoring the freedom from tyranny that had motivated the original, the Rebellion/Revolution, and the Constitution. As it turns out many of the various local Tea Party groups and their political representatives merely want to impose their tyrannies to replace the tyrannies of the Liberals. Not much of an improvement.

        • Webb

The Tea Party Is doing Just That…….Trying To Stop Tyranny, In all Of Its Forms! Please Tell us Of The Tyrannies The Tea Party Is trying To Replace of Liberals?

        • BillyBaloo

I have seen none of that, Our TEA Party and any we have been with have been for bring back Constitutional fule and freedoms and stopping the wild spending.

        • manstrom

          Troll! Your post is compost!!!

    • doodledandy

The TEA party has done NOTHING to you except FIGHT for YOUR RIGHTS. I would think you could find a better scapegoat to blame this garbage on. It was the GOP that left the right side of the Constitution. Read it, beleive it and stand with us against this administration that is trying to take ALL of your rights.

    • 1bob

Now all we have to do is work on that socialist tendency, Patrick…Most of the Tea Party ‘nuts’ really want nothing more than a constitutional government, and the freedom to succeed. Sneak into a couple of their meetings, and you’ll see what I mean.

    • Doug

      Huh? Progressive values?

    • Washington22

You had me until you slammed the Tea Party who are the PATRIOTS of this nation. If you love the 2nd amendment, you should also see clear to embrace the Tea Party agenda. Your warped views of them came directly from the Demon-rats. Use your head, research carefully and open your eyes. While I admire much of your plight, I see you still are in the dark…………

    • James Seidel

Your still an admitted liberal jerk if all you disagree on, with your other liberal jerks, is the right to own and carry a firearm…

    • Jeff Slosson

Some people (like BO and Holder) don’t really care about what rights we have afforded to us by the Constitution. I hope we all remember this when it comes time to vote for presidents and other politicians in the future (Hillary and those commie females in office in CA).

    • Elson Snider

First of all, you’re stupid for being a progressive liberal! People like you, are the reason America, is in the shape it is in! Right down, to the 50% entitlement grabbers!!

    • Tom Deitz

Well said! You are the old school democrat, I am independent. I respect that. :)

    • Sharon

You calling Tea Party members “nuts” is reprehensible. You disgust me.

  • standtallall

The journey of a million miles begins with just one step

  • GUNNER

There shouldn’t be any discourse on the gun issue it is clear to even the uninformed what the second amendment says. So why don’t you gun grabbing hand wringing diversity loving dim wits realize there are many progressives and liberals that own and or carry guns because as we do they respect the constitution and do not want to see any kook fringe group attack the 2nd amendment.

    • 1bob

Just read that 68% of Connecticut law enforcement have not registered their weapons per the new law.
Good for them!! And that one rogue cop who told a constituent he couldn’t wait to kick the guy’s door down and confiscate this weapons—he is on administrative leave. Not strong enough.

      • Tec Sg Beatty

I wonder if any of these LAW-BREAKING CRIMINALS will be kicking in anyone’s doors looking for “illegal” guns?

        • joebabe

If you mean swat teams that do “No knock” home invasions. or anti – fourth amendment search and seizures, that is coming to a neighborhood near you soon.. Unless you vote FOR leadership that will protect the Constitution. Happy to see that some people in Conn. had the guts to see the gun grabbers “big picture” of confiscation and did something to stop them.

          • Tec Sg Beatty

My first test for anyone running for office is to grill them on where they stand on Constitutional issues. I ask direct questions, and will NOT tolerate indirect answers.
As to “no knock” home invasions, I try to establish a rapport with local law enforcement. The most troubling aspect of law enforcement today is the “us vs. them” attitude that is WAY too prevalent. Individually, most cops I’ve met are reasonable, honest folks. The problem is with their “leadership”, as most police chiefs are political appointees. This is notoriously true in Democrat-run cities.
I have personally been physically assaulted by a police chief, at a public meeting, and no one in power (mayor, prosecutor, council members) did a damned thing about it. I’ve also been held at gunpoint by several officers for STRICTLY COMPLYING WITH THE LAW(S) REGARDING CARRY OF WEAPONS.
There are 2 ways to repair this problem: (1) elect ONLY those candidates that understand, respect, and OBEY the Constitutions of the state(s) and nation, or; (2) physically resist such treatment. This would be termed “escalation” by the powers that be, and they will respond with force. So be it.
My fear is that it is when, not IF, incidents such as these will result in armed confrontation with agents of the state. In such a case, revolution is called for.

          • Bill

Never trust any cop as far as you can throw him !!! I have personal friends that are business associates – part time away from law enforcement and i don’t trust them with protecting my life or not kicking my door in and confiscating my arms !!!

          • Roger Sroka

It’s “Everyone or no one” statements like that that make people sound just plain ignorant.

          • Dee

I am a city councilman, pro-gun all the way, and know MANY good law abiding police officers who are pro-gun also. Bill, you are totally wrong in your statement. That is just like saying don’t trust anyone who owns a gun because they are all criminals. It sounds like you have had some very bad experiences with the police or are just paranoid. That being said, there are good cops and bad cops, just like there are good gun owners and bad gun owners. The issue here is not personalities but the individual rights guaranteed by the constitution. We must be always diligent in who we vote for and support in this country. I believe there are forces at work that want to take away our freedoms in any way that they can. Unfortunately I see a lot of people who like to complain on facebook but won’t sacrifice one episode of American Idle to do anything about it. Get involved. Don’t just write replies on facebook, but actively
commit your time to the defeat of these forces. Run for office, protest, vote, let your voice be heard, or you will become one of the downtrodden.

          • 88twin

there is a few problems dee u are a small town politian i would guess i have been around police both at the state and local level for many yrs and i have seen more and more local cops and a few state level cops become more radical. thy would bust there mother if thy could more have become so belagerent and nasty pushy and power hungery i wouldn’t trust a cop as far as i could through one and sorry about the spelling

          • Nicodemus

I wouldn’t want to be in the ranks of those detailed to knock down doors looking for guns…the first few may go down easily….but then it would get really ugly…. Fortunately, I think the pendulum is swinging back in the other direction….I think the November elections are going to see a lot of these Nazis being shown the highway…

          • CTH

They need to be shown more than the highway. They need to be shown a long term view of the interior of the jail house.

          • Landshark

They should be shown the doorway to the cell block.

      • supergun

Needs to be fired. He needs to be a greeter.

        • TEXAS DEPUTY

As a law enforcement member myself, I know that he should be fired for violating his oath of office which includes the oath that he support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America…

          • supergun

There are certain people cut out to be law officers. They must have the Spirit of “To Serve and Protect”. Anything other than that, the person should pursue other careers. Good to hear your input on this important subject. Thank you for your SERVICE, Texas Deputy.

          • Original Rebel

Speaking of “To Serve and Protect”, it was called to my attention that those words are no longer on law enforcement vehicles. I checked both in Idaho, and here in Washington, and by George – THEY ARE GONE! Wonder if that means they WON’T serve and protect us. Another reason we need to keep our guns and ammo!!!!

          • Derrell1970

It was never the duty of Law Enforcement to “Protect” us! If that is
so they are woefully inadequate to the task. (You can witness how well they fail in the city of Chicago!) It is our duty as law-abiding citizens to protect ourselves and moreover it is an unalienable RIGHT! It is the job of police forces to enforce the law. Their JOB is to catch lawbreakers, build a case of evidence against them so that justice can put them out of society! In that sense they protect society against lawlessness and that is how they SERVE society! But it is NOT their job to protect individual citizens!

If you disagree then you are among the majority of Americans who have bought into the Socialist Progressive Liberal dogma that we must depend upon EXPERTS to care for every aspect of our lives. (Part of Social Demoralization.) This is at the core of the Gun Grabbers’ objective. They believe our protection should be in the hands of “professionals” – EXPERTS!

That is contrary to a free society that posesses the maturity to own freedom by self-governing! Socialist liberals HATE self-governing! They love lawlesness! (Look how more and more they pass laws that create criminals out of law abiding citizens!) They believe the purpose of Government is to take care of us! But our government was set up to be run by Amateurs – We the People! The purpose of our government WAS to protect our individual rights – including SELF DEFENSE! No slam whatsoever against the Police but they are NOT the experts at protecting me! I AM! Within the limits of the law “…made in pursuance thereof…” the Constitution.

          • Original Rebel

Well, Darrell, LIGHTEN UP!!! I DO understand where you are coming from, and I am NOT one of those who doesn’t believe that as a citizen I have every right to defend myself or anyone else that I care about.

You are slightly confused, I think, if you believe that that was my point. It was not. I don’t know how old you are, but there used to be painted on the side or rear of EVERY law enforcement vehicle in this country, the phrase “To serve and to Protect”. That meant that they were to “serve” the public and “protect” the innocent – public or private. There is no other meaning for that phrase. My concern is that now that it has disappeared from ALL law enforcement vehicles, we cannot even EXPECT them to serve and protect. We are not all capable of protecting ourselves – so, what does the ones who are afraid of guns do now? They have to depend on you (maybe?) and me!!!!!

          • Derrell1970

Original Rebel, please don’t take my “seriousness” personally. Plenty of police officers will tell you that their duty is to uphold the law, catch criminal, and collect evidence against them. They patrol the streets to deter criminal activity – that is their protection. But their DUTY is not to protect you and I. If that is their DUTY then every municipality needs many more officers than they can afford. If that is their DUTY then any time someone in their jurisdiction is harmed they have FAILED their duty. Where were the police for Sharon Tate? (Remember Sharon?) What about Sandy Hook?

I remember the slogan. You didn’t see that slogan until the mid ’60s. Why did they stop using it? Perhaps because it conveyed a false promise? Perhaps angry citizens thought to sue municiplalities becauce of unfulfilled expectations? I do not know but I do know the promise is false, not because they don’t want to protect and serve but because they CANNOT fulfill that protection!
Please consider; our Nation was founded by self-reliant men – not Experts. Our Nation was built by amateurs. Our founding principles were established by men who considered history and developed precepts that were completely out of charactor with contemporary governments. They may have been innovators but they were NOT experts. And for generations our nation was built by people who had this same self-reliance. Only after progressives gained the national voice and infested our government did we see advent and reliance on Experts! In the old days you didn’t need a college degree to be a school teacher, a police officer, a railroad engineer or even a doctor. You certainly didn’t need a license to drill for oil. You didn’t need a permit to build a house. And you didn’t need a mechanic to fix your car!

It is no accident we have been conditioned to rely on Experts for everything! A self relient people will not support a government that intends to make all of us dependent upon it! You may be unsettled at the perceived “loss” of protection but I see it as quite the opposite. It underscores our right and duty to be self reliant! It flys in the face of those who believe every aspect of our lives should be under the control of Experts.

It is the intent of Communist (Liberals, Progressives and NeoCons) to bring ALL police forces under Federal control – never mind the Constitution does not enumerate ANY of the current Federal police forces (FBI, DATF&X, DHS, IRS etc.) as an authorized part of the Federal government! The Constitution established the County Sheriff as the top law enforcewment officer of any community.

I understand you concern for those who cannot protect themselves. If they are afraid of guns they need to get over it. But if they physically cannot then YES it is up to us. It isn’t so hard as you may think. Criminals are cowards and if they know there are armed citizens ready to defend and protect those who cannot MOST of them will be smart enough to go somewhere else. An Armed community is a safe and courtious community. We also need to pass laws that promote self protection – NOT tear it down. And, most important we as armed citizens must make strong alliances with our local law enforcement. Our influence MUST be upon them.

            Perhaps I still sound confused?

          • Joe Fez

WHEW! MAN YOU SURE HAD ALLOT TO SAY. VERY WELL SAID!

          • Derrell1970

Sorry I’m so windy. And thanks for taking the time to read it. Truly.

          • Original Rebel

I agree with your summation. My only point is that not only is “society” to be protected by law enforcement, but society IS MADE UP OF INDIVIDUALS. Ergo, “individuals” are also entitled to police service and protection. It used to be that if you got stranded along the road, and a law enforcement officer happened along (they used to patrol the interstates for 1) speeders; 2) accidents; and 3) STRANDED MOTORISTS – of which they would offer to transport the stranded to the next telephone or would run them to a service station, etc. NO MORE! They will barely wait with you if you are able to call someone to come assist!

Anyway, this subject is getting off topic, didn’t we start out with the right to own weapons? ;-)

          • Derrell1970

Disagreements are okay among mature people who defer to critical thinking instead of name-calling and unfounded accusations. Can you imagine the “fun” one could have posting this subject on MSN for instance?

I understand your point concerning individuals making up society. Governments are prone to evil but they are necessary for the protection of our individual rights. I don’t agree with our founders because it is fashionable to do so; I agree with them because I recognize the resonance of Truth when I consider the words they left us. I want no more power and authority in the hands of any
government at any level than necessary to fulfill that protection.

Thanks for your comments and an interesting discussion. Let’s get back on topic.

          • Original Rebel

If I may, I’d like to make just one more observation from a news item I watched just this very evening. It was a video (apparently taken by the officers on site) of 3 or 4 of them approaching a homeless man and advising him that he could not sleep where he was sleeping – this was in Louisville, Kentucky apparently. The man was acquiescent and TURNED HIS BACK to gather his belongings, and the cops shot him dead! That’s what I mean by “individuals” being “served” and “protected”. Some gun-happy cop killed a helpless individual for what? Because he could? So far, it has not been indicated that the man was reaching for anything but his possessions. Even the police chief, after making a stupid precipitous remark right after the incident, had to later admit to the reporter that he had made a “mistake” jumping the gun of assumption!!!!

Okay, had to get that off my chest – if there are no other disagreements, then I would love to get back to the topic at hand.

I try to live by the Bible and the Constitution – one for spiritual support; the other for common sense and secular support. I have no use for anyone who tramples on either one of them!

          • Derrell1970

That’s a terrible story! And unfortunately one that isn’t so rare anymore. What about the woman who was shot dead in front of
the White House in her car last year? She had her toddler daughter with her and a trigger happy (or paranoid) cop killed her for no good reason! Never heard anymore about that one! Sandy Hook my A–! How many actually innocent people a year do cops kill?

I was dismissed from Jury duty once because I told the interviewing Attorney I did not trust the police. I wasn’t trying to get out of the duty. I was just being honest. I don’t hate the police. I just don’t trust them.
I am a Constitutionalist Libertarian. I believe the Bible was the greatest book ever written on Human Nature but I am not a christian. I have no quarrel with Christians – they are my allies. Our Freedom is based on our ability to self Govern – to do what is right even when we don’t have to.

          • Original Rebel

I heard about the woman shot in front of the White House, but didn’t she have a gun (or not, I’m not recalling the whole story)? Anyway, I’ve noticed how many stories, lately, have a bottom line of “shoot first, ask questions later”, and I have the distinct opinion that that is what the cops do these days. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t advocate that they not shoot unless they are shot at, but it would seem to me that taking that stance would probably result in less mistaken assumptions that cost some innocent citizen lives. I really don’t know what the answer is … perhaps everybody should take a course in reading body language! (Just a thought – don’t know how feasible that would be.) I know that they usually command a “drop your weapon” phrase, but sometimes, a regular person “freezes” with either shock or fear and doesn’t drop their weapon and gets shot. With all the training that supposedly goes into law enforcement, you’d think there would be less innocent deaths.

          • Derrell1970

I do not recall that she was armed. It does seem they fouind that she had some mental issues. but then I wasn’t there to see first hand for myself. All I know is they shot her dead because she appeared to be “attacking” the White House. At any rate both of these storys are tragic and frankly one could construe there is a growing expectation on the part of law enforcement that common ciizens are THEIR enemies. Not Good!

          • Original Rebel

Agreed! America is in a sad state of affairs currently – in order to get her back on track, we need to clean out the rats’ nest in DC. These people have taken advantage of my sweat too long. Sixteen MILLION TAXPAYERS’ dollars the king & queen in the WH have spent on vacations in 2013 – and I haven’t ever been out of the country!!!!!! One more reason why they aren’t getting their paws on anything I have for my own protection.

          • lraivala

But, the term “To serve and Protect” does not nor has it ever meant to what you think it meant.
To protect the public from the criminals they apprehend is what it meant, and not to protect you as an individual.
Otherwise, one could say the police departments are failing in every aspect of that job if you add up all the burglaries, murders, assaults, rapes, robberies, etc…

            Wouldn’t you say?

          • Derrell1970

Absolutely! In fact, exactly. Police forces are to protect Society. Protect (society) and Serve (society).

          • Original Rebel

As a member of “society” you’re damn right I expect them to protect me from criminals if I’m in a position of danger from a “criminal”. If I call 911, I want a response as quickly as possible. What the hell do you think I pay taxes for? Them to ride around and spend their shifts at Dunkin’ Donuts? Get a grip. One of the reasons I have protection of my own is because when you need a cop in a minute – they’re usually 15 minutes away. In any event, they ARE supposed to protect us as “individuals”, as well.

          • Joe Fez

DON’T DEPEND ON ME IF YOU ARE A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT.

          • Derrell1970

Oh, I’m depending on you. And you can depend on me so long as you uphold the Constitution and individual liberty!

          • Joe Fez

good enough, feel the same way.

          • Original Rebel

Oh for crying out loud … you seem to be missing the point I’m making. I’m totally capable of taking care of myself. I haven’t depended on anyone since I was 17, and I sure won’t be starting now, least of all, on someone so self-centered as you! If I were a liberal lunatic lugnut (as you mistakenly seem to think) I wouldn’t be quite so nice to you with your outlandish statements.

          • Joe Fez

you too are missing my point. i didn’t mean you i meant any helpless dem that is a liberal i’m not a self centered person. you mentioned people who are afraid of guns would have to depend on you or me. not me if they are liberal. calm down rebel, i think we are the same page.

          • Original Rebel

Feels like I’m going ’round in circles … let’s just agree to sorta disagree. I’m not one to enjoy splitting hairs. We’re probably pretty much on the same page so I’m gonna give you the benefit. Thanks for the discussion.

          • Peter Furman

            Derrell,
            You are “Dead Wrong”
It is absolutely the duty of every member of “Law Enforcement” to protect the people and this country-period!
Every politician, every branch of the military, everyone who is elected and/or appointed and “Paid” by the people to “Serve” the People,Defend the Constitution, enforce the Constitution and Swear an oath to do so!
Unfortunately,it isn’t enough when a tyrant,a cadre of tyrants betray their oath, the Constitution and the people they “serve”.
We know that throughout history Freedom loving people have been called upon, have been given the “Constitutional,Inalienable Right to protect themselves, their families, their property and their country from the enemy without AND the enemy “within”
“Of the people,For the People,By the People”!
            “Live Free Or Die”,”Never Forget”,”Never Again” !!!

          • Derrell1970

Peter, I am neither dead nor wrong. As individual officers, certainly it would be their duty to protect anyone within their vicinity to do so. That is common law and common sense. But to assume it is the Police Force’s duty? DUTY! – Responsibility to provide you with protection? Nope! It is impossible – which is why you cannot sue the police if you get robbed or shot or what ever! Is it their duty to respond to your call for help? Certainly – to the best of their ability. But go ahead; ask a serving officer if it is his duty to make sure you don’t get robbed or shot! The purpose of Law enforcement is to uphold the law and protect our Society from Criminals. They do that by presenting deterent and by capturing and jailing those who break the law.
As far as the Criminal in the White House and the snakes in that cesspool, D.C. I’m with you there. They are exactly why I HATE Experts. I do not hate the local police! But as far as the Constitution is concerned there is NO authorization of a National Police Force and ALL of those Alphabet soup agencies are ILLEGAL! WE are the militia and the States are the Law Enforcement platform – NOT the federal government!
We have become a Nation of wimps who more and more cannot do a thing for ourselves. We are a “Dependency” on Experts. Our freedom has been absconded by EXPERTS who now give us “permission” to be free!
You may WANT the police to protect you – but I sure as heck don’t! I KNOW I can’t count on them. I will protect myself! I’d rather be FREE….
Now. Respectfully. If you don’t understand what I’m saying or if you still disagree then you are just gonna have to live with that.

          • Joe Fez

RIGHT ON DERRELL, SUPREME COURT RULED THAT THE POLICE
ARE NOT LIABLE TO PROTECT INDIVIDUALS BUT TO PROTECT THE MASSES. GOOD LUCK WITH IT EITHER WAY. ALL ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OURSELVES.

          • lraivala

Peter, Law enforcement has the duty to uphold the laws not protect you. You are the only one who is able to protect you and your family when that incident occurs. So be prepared. Law enforcement will conduct the interviews afterwards and make the appropriate arrests, and then a judge and jury will make the final judgement.
But, it is you who has the RIGHT and obligation to protect you and your family as well as your property from the criminals.

          • rifftop

They cannot protect what they don’t see, yet if a person protects himself by means of a gun……in many states he becomes a criminal because of where he was, who he was, the possession of the gun. If police were tasked to “protect” anybody and they fail to do so most of the time , they would be sued constantly. Law Enforcement is not individual protection. We know a cop cannot be everywhere, but that is why the right to own/carry a gun is a citizen’s right, yet thwarted by the radicle left.

          • lraivala

Well said, and I have been saying that for years now. Well, at least there are 2 of us who believe the same thing.

          • Derrell1970

Thanks, Iraivala. And take heart because we ain’t the only ones. This topic comes up in the NRA magazines ever so often and they concur!
Common sense and faith in the Constitution are NOT dead! In spite of the Experts!

          • Jim DiGiacomo

Well said Derrell and so right. It has been decided in court more than once that the police are not there to protect us as individuals but to go out and catch the bad guy after the crime has been committed, therefore they are serving the community as a whole but protecting no one.

            Thanks Jim.

          • supergun

You make a good point. I have noticed that it was taken off the police and sheriffs cars here in Georgia.

          • Original Rebel

That has changed my opinion of law enforcement drastically. I now am as wary of them as I am of any other stranger or threat, because with that little motto removed – it is great cause for concern. THE BIG QUESTION IS “WHY”????

          • supergun

There are many good people in the law enforcement area. But there are many who would be considered traitors.

          • Original Rebel

Agree. But, I no longer fully trust the law enforcement breed; some of which have way too big a power trip!

          • rifftop

True …….it has been removed from many patrol vehicles……..besides, anybody knows the PD is not there to protect anybody. How can it be present when crimes are taking place. They merely “enforce the law”. For victims that means scraping the victim off the pavement or walk. If they are given a warrant or lead to kick in a door…..many times it’s been the wrong door or info. Yet we have millions of criminals that have crossed the border and sign up for handouts…….no enforcement on that problem either.

          • Original Rebel

            Couldn’t agree more, riff.

          • rifftop

I saw that commercial……..just another that makes males look stupid. Cops are not very “flexible” and are mostly humorless robots when they put the gear on. I don’t know, but I would guess that in their training they are led to believe their own hype of being the thin “blue line” between chaos and order. In reality they are like “tax/fee collectors” for not just the towns/states, but they actually work for the insurance companies, in that …..when you get points on your license, your insurance rates go up, they also decide faults in accidents. They can ticket you for a faulty car, besides your driving habits…….and all of this is computerized for the benefit of the insurance companies. Also it is no longer the “old days” when the neighborhood new the local cop on the beat and he knew all the families, businesses etc. Today they are hired from out of town, patrol your town, hide in the bushes to nab drivers for minor nonsense when they need to pump up the cash register. Finally they get overpaid and the public is warned..”you need the best” or “only the police can protect you from the criminal lurking around “. Because PDs rely on state and Federal money to support them………they work for those entities first, never the citizen. Ever try to explain your mistake in driving or speeding in non “drunk” circumstances? They usually don’t care who is dying or sick…..you didn’t come to a full stop or ran the amber light…….and the town needs cash. Since the politician is their boss, look at that guy first to see what the cops will be doing to you.

          • Original Rebel

Can’t argue with that. Makes sense.

          • dinkerduo

We’ve had a few cops in the Denver area who were knuckle happy–2 beat a man standing on a corner talking to his Dad on the phone and they grabbed him and beat the snot out of him for no reason–all caught on tape–they got off–fired would have been much better! Some get toooo power hungry–shouldn’t be cops!!

          • supergun

Unfortunately, we have a few bad apples to go along with a “FEW GOOD MEN”. They put a bad name on the good officers.

          • jewels

We are in moral decay. Anyone who wears a badge took an oath, when they break that oath, the badge, the gun, and the uniform needs to be taken away.

      • 88twin

        • Landshark

I authored a petition in 1987 calling for charges of treason for any legislator who introduced unconstitutional Bills. It was signed my many thousands of patriots. Congress refused to accept it. That was 1987 folks. Guess they want to keep their jobs. Semper Fi!

They believe “they know what is best” for all the peasants. Too many politicians, authorities and have their own agenda…….and want to decide what is GOOD for you.

          • Landshark

That is a scary thought. And that is why we need to elect proven Conservatives in 2014.

Will that rogue cop be as willing to kick in a fellow officers door ?

        • 1bob

I believe this upcoming election is good bye to those gungrabbers regardless if their party affiliation! They are trying to take our second amendment rights away from all of the people who obey the law about owning and using guns!

att AMERICA, OPERATION AMERICAN SPRING is being organized for may 16th, 2014 in wash dc.go to http://www.patriotsforamerica.ning.com and http://www.standupamericaus.org. RET COL HARRY RILEY, US ARMY. we are going to dc to restore a constitutional govt to replace the out of control, illegitimate, lawless, SOCIALIST govt leadership that exists today. the american people are fed up with the ever increasing national debt, govt spending on OTHER nations besides ours, force fed GOVT PROGRAMS like obamacare and the socialist indoctrination of our children, COMMON CORE, “we must obey the govt command at all times”. we are demanding the removal of barack insane obama, biden, holder, reid, boehner, pelosi, etc, from office.this country is being destroyed at an alarming rate. remember this, if 33 million egyptian citizens can remove their corrupt govt then so can we. obama must be stopped before any more of his socialist agenda realized. we need every american patriot to attend this rally, it is your civic duty to defend america from her enemies. MAY 16TH, 2014.BE THERE

    • Philip Shremshock

I would love to be there, unfortunately for me I have work to do elsewhere and will be out of town, I’ve already tried to duck out so I could attend, still working on it and still might make it, I live just across the river from DC and working hard on postponing my duties to more then just myself but if I don’t do my job, it could cost others theirs, and that just wouldn’t be fair to them, my employees depend on me doing my job in securing more work for them, otherwise if I can push my meeting with my potential new client out or move it up, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be there,

      • Joseph D Femoyer

Phil, i hope you can make the trip. this is our chance to finally be heard and to actually make a positive change in the direction of this country.

  • smitty6398

Congratulations, Representative Belsito. May your tenure be fruitful. Keep the welfare of the State’s residents in your heart and mind in all that you do; they can ask no more. Remind them regularly that you have only 1 vote to represent the wishes of the ENTIRE district.

Wait until the Presidential Election. It’s not going to be another democrat. Rand Paul you betcha’ The Senate is going to be returned to the Republicans as well. America is sick of what democrats are all about. Leftist democrats are being known as the anti-American, anti-Constitutional voice of un-reason.

    • brynda50

It’s not just the Democrats. Don’t forget that many of the Republicans in office are not espousing the long-standing, conservative, freedom-loving values of their constituents, of which I am one. I am extremely dissatisfied with our Speaker of the House and other long-standing career politicians. These career politicians have forgotten that they work for us, the People. I have been supporting Tea Party candidates thus far. What I would really like to see is conservative Republicans working with the Tea Party to get the best “persons” elected, regardless of their party affiliation. It’s time for use to take our country back!

      • worldwatchman

I agree with what you said. I’m not a Republican or Democrat. I’m a Constitution Party voter BUT, until we have new blood running, I believe our best bet is Rand Paul. He has values and an understanding more in line with the Constitution Party than anyone else. He may be our best hope to get this country turned into the right direction. There’s NO perfect politician but, he DOES listen. I know this for a fact.

    • Kevin Jankoski

I am from Kentucky, if you think Rand Paul is competent to be President of the United States of America you are nuts! He was a carpet bagger moving to Kentucky to run for senate, he has no business experience, he was raised on a congressional salary but a nutjob father he has no chance of winning anything but the 18-26 year olds vote which will guarantee the Dems a Hillary victory look at Rand Pauls stance he wont carry a single Disabled Vet like myselfs vote….why? He wants to do away with the Americans With Disabilities Act as a favor to his corporate doanners…………….. Pick a guy with Executive Experience please part of Obama’s horrible performance is his lack of having run anything………

  • deano

REDvsBLUEwar Oust all RED state DEMS and Make Harry Reid a MINORITY leader…these dems are gonna be in the Minority for a long time with there radical actions…there are MORE red states than Blue make them pay…

  • Philip Shremshock

I’m for term limits and an end to the party system of government, we all seem to be in agreement there, I would like to see us as a Constitutional Republic as or forefathers meant it to be, perhaps if our leaders were faced with returning to the public sector and work force they would use more common sense and pass laws that make sense, I’m not a TEA party participant but agree with much of what they are trying to achieve, a smaller less intrusive government, bringing back our manufacturing strength, eliminating the IRS, problem with our government now is they are addicted to the money and their precious budgets for their social programs, not to mention the pay checks and exclusive retirement benefits they receive, and until We The People take a stand and say enough is enough, we’ll just have rerun after rerun of the same old BS and SNAFU from these elitist bums who most have never really had to do a hard days labor in their entire privileged lives and more then likely never have even read the Constitution they are suppose to be defending at all costs, I personally took that oath as a US Navy Vet. and still hold that oath as sacred as the day I took it and still willing and able to defend it with my live if need be so help me GOD.

  • James

We need to remember this in November and remove all the gun
grabbing Socialist Democrats in every branch of the government.

  • Faucon Noir

a_browning . . . good point! That is why I have been in limbo on that issue for several years. Fact is, I do not any see any party reflecting my values at this point.
Be well and watch your back

  • Coffee49

There was some big $ that influenced Conn. registration law, if an instructor at sandy hook could have been in the right place at the right time Lanzas brains would have been sprayed along a school room wall. That didnt happen, if people obeyed every law there would be no need for police or lawyers, this is not a perfect world so when laws fail to protect people it is up to the individual.

  • James Andrews

Awesome! We need to keep this going…..

  • Webb

And The 2nd Amendment Lives On……..Vote Them Out In 2014, If They Stand Against Our Rights To Keep Our Guns!!

  • pudge1

Do we have any of our reps or sens pushing for term limits? Or reduced staff? They would be murdered or run out of D.C. with the help of media and lobbyist.

  • Faucon Noir

Well said Gunner. I think the forefathers had the same militia model in mind as Switzerland’s when they drafted the US Constitution: a citizen’s army.

  • ProfessorPBZ

Most shootings are by people who did not buy a gun legally, or who used a stolen gun, or who are not illegible to own one (like people mentally ill, or criminals). Take them out of the picture and you will find that cities and states where more good people legally own a gun or guns, and you have the lowest crime rates in the nation. I suspect that the people who want the guns taken away and do not want veterans to own them are people elected with planning to depopulate America and want to make sure people will not can’t fight back. So America needs to elect a moderate conservative president, who will stay out of wars, who is rich so he won’t sell his soul to the rich Far Right and Far Left corporate nutcases, and who will and lay off gun control.

  • Stuart Buncher

A Dim controlled Senate voted down Obozo’s assault weapons ban.

  • The duck

I sure hope so. And very soon. At the start of WWII when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor they failed to press their short lived advantage to invade the main land of our USA. The reason given was they knew that there was a man with a gun behind every tree that knew how to use it. We are not far away from another Pearl Harbor with an imported religion that wants world wide control of every man woman and child. So do not give up your guns. The danger is very very real.

  • modifyit

This seems to be old news since the man was sworn in on June 19, 2013. So, when was the election held? Why was the special election held? Did the pro gun folks raise a lot of flak and petition for a recall, or did another liberal get caught with his hand in the cookie jar?

  • SpudPicker

Good to see that there are politicians that understand the term “…….shall NOT be infringed!”
Long may he reign, so long as he keeps his head on straight!

  • Russ55

Tea party members as i understand it, are for smaller government, bigger small business and pretty much do not care for government interfering or trying to run our business and lives!! Unfortunately we have some Rhino’s in DC who say one thing and then vote another way. There is a movement in the Tea party to defeat these professional politicians who say one thing and DO ANOTHER.

It is time for “WE THE PEOPLE” be ye democrat, liberal ,Republican, or Tea Party to take back what our fathers and grandfathers gave their lives for. I lost a great uncle in WW2, an uncle in Vietnam, and i am 100% disabled vet. I am not telling you this for sympathy, just want ALL to understand if obama is left to his “pen & phone” rhetoric, then we are all sunk and our forefathers gave their lives for naught.
It is time for the GOP to take control of congress, so we can defeat this potus with his muslim agenda. Enough is Enough, he has been let get away with wrongdoings for 5 years. Do you really know how the Ambassador to Libya was murdered??

He was raped, over & over again, and then his testicles were cut off and he was dragged through the streets of Benghazi.
Not only does obama need to be tried for high crimes against the US, but hillary clinton should be also. And eric holder should be tried for Fast & Furious. When are you people going to wake up.
I am called a “SHEEP” by my black brethren, yes i am white, but i dont judge people and if i did it would not be about the color of their skin. I will say this and then i will hush, i might be a sheep, but if i am i am a wolf in sheeps clothing and you can bet your ass if the doo-doo hit the fan i would be able to take care of me and mine. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get to that point!!

  • Legatus legionis

The evidence that gun control does not reduce gun crime is well known; yet, Democrats continue to pursue an assault on our 2nd Amendment Rights. Specifically, they target semi-automatic rifles like the AR 15. Why? Once again, evidence shows that ARs are not the problem. Instead, the problem lies with gangster on gangster violent crime involving pistols. Democrats do not propose solutions to the growing problem of gang membership and violence. Why? Their objective is to take away our ability to defend agains their treasonous ambitions. This is why despite the evidence, they target ARs. Democrats and Republican party members represent a corrupt political class in need of cleansing if we are to get our Republic back. This can occur at the ballot box, providing we can even have an honest election today, or the restoration can occur by violent civil war. The election of this man is the first effort at a peaceful solution to the treasonous conduct of CT legislators and it Governor. Lastly, I view the efforts as gun control by legislatures as the making of war by law, or law warfare. It is treason to make war on “them.” Article II, Section 2 defines Treason as making war on them. Them can either be the government, or the people. We are experiencing the wholesale making of war by the General Government on the people. This is evidenced by not only the Democrats gun control efforts, but equally by the passage of the Indefinite Detention Law. I think most Americans would recognize the treason of a person. But, this is the first time in History that an entire political party commits treason in order to advance its ideology. Make no mistake, the Democrats and each of their State Party members are guilty of facilitating Obama’s election to the Presidency. Obama is not eligible, and I believe he is a citizen of Indonesia. Hence, the panic attack by Governors and legislatures to pass gun control.

  • bryan beane

OOPS. Are people finally beginning to wake up and see the truth.

  • jb80538

A republican that doesn’t like guns simply doesn’t own any. A democrat that doesn’t like guns thinks NO ONE should own one.

  • DavidTN

Let’s hope this spreads like wild fire through the entire State of Connecticut. These progressive Democrats and RINOS our not true to there sworn/affirmed oath of office to uphold, protect and defend out Constitutional republic!

  • regulus30

    let’s have a big “hell666 yeah”.

  • WhiteFalcon

It is a beginning, but this happened over a year ago ccording to the above article. I have high hopes that Connecticut is swamped with pro gun legislators in November, and that they are all conservative. Mostly, that unconstitutional law should be recinded or shot down in court.

  • Laurence Almand

Finally! Voters behaving in a sensible manner! Let’s hope the same thing happens in 2016!

This is what happens when a smug governor and his anti-gun legislature engage in forceful and ill- conceived legislation. It is just a matter of time along with massive push back that eventually sets things in motion which hopefully returns government to the people.

Well its about time the people of AMERICA are waking up.We the people need to stand against another government of non-CHRISTIANS & the tirents that rule our nation. We have won our freedoms by the blood of our families an friends from the days of our forefathers to this day when our sons an daughters are going in harms way to protect our freedoms again.
We the people need to hold these political officers responsible for their illegal actions. VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE before we the people have to revolt against another government of trators.
It is best to vote these out than to have to take up arms to over throw their illegal actions.

  • Damian Wayne

They are always so quick to want too kick in doors , if all law abiding gun owners in America gave up all our guns , the cops would be unable to police this country effectively, only crooks will have them along with the police , and there we would all be stuck in middle , praying the police show up even to help us when there is not enough law enforcement to protect us , what then mr king OBama, what do we do then ? ill tell you , we become victims ar another statistic , they will not be there to help you , so think about that when you vote in november my fellow gunowning and legaly carrying countrymen.

  • Robert L. Rice

Way to go,!!! sure GLAD I don’t live in Conneticut,I would be resisting gun registration, then when they JAM all of us DISSENTERS into a jail cell,I would probably have to stand, crushed against the wall, because so many of us,were jammed into a cell together……….

To everyone with an open mind and still searching for the truth:
Please, get yourself a copy of 2 books: 1), “The Unseen Hand” by A. Ralph Epperson & “The Order of The Death’s Head” by Heinz Hohne. You will see why when we fight each other with terms like “dimwit progressive liberals” or “whatever they called the conservatives” we are playing into their hands. THEY would love to see a revolution in this country. Read the books, they will open your eyes to who the real enemy has been and still is. That is why it is vital that the 2nd Amendment be defended at all cost. This IS NOT a partisan issue. This is an issue of National Sovereignty, individual and social freedom. The US government is not the enemy, it has been just as infiltrated and victimized as we have been. Be smart, be vigilant and do not be played. They control all sides with MICE (Money/Idealism/Corruption/Ego) This will be my last comment on Yahoo. God bless you all.

If there were a way to eliminate the “gun free zones” of New York City, Chicago, Detroit, and New Orleans from the country, the US would rank 4th from the bottom in gun deaths instead of third highest in the world.

Foucon Noir, thank you for your post. It is truely refreshing to hear from a fellow citizen who sees the falicy in our current political situation, and considers themselves a modern liberal. I fall more along Libertarian political views but that aside, all of us who cherish our freedoms protected in the constitution need to come together. Right now more than at any time in our country’s 238 year history our citizenry needs to set these small differences aside. we must unite to form an impenetrable wall against those who would strip us of the very core of what has made this the land of opportunity. The freedom to both rise and fall, to take on that level of self responsibility, peruse our dreams and be rewarded with the fruits of our own creative labors. We are facing a total landscape shift in our way of life, 1984 is right down the street if we fail to unite and put this car in reverse!

    • Faucon Noir

GlenD. Thank you for your post as well. My thought, exactly.
Have you read “The Unseen Hand” by A. Ralph Epperson? It is an eye opener.

    • Peter Osborne

Time does change meanings….Jefferson was a “liberal” Tories conservative. Today the “Liberals” are reactionaries, intolerant, with no love for the Bill of Rights and “Conservatives” are the tolerant liberal ones who treasure freedom, protect the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Constitution !

  • Buckwheat

Who knows? If it could happen Connecticut it could happen nationwide. Way to go 53rd District!!!!!

  • blusportie

A tidal wave is building and King Barry and his Band of Married Men are going to be swept down the sewer of their own making in November. America may just be on her way back to the top.

  • vincent marquette

We need to fight against these people until they no longer exist. This is going to take a lot of effort.

  • TOTLAM

The first small step towards LIBERTY – one GIANT LEAP towards JUSTICE!

  • Peter Osborne

Is there an anti-gun nut anywhere who explain why they want to be defenseless against armed criminals?

  • Roger Hill

CT is a liberal hellhole run by the democrat party. Gun Owners of America has rated it’s senators and congressman an F or F- so what does that tell you?
Look at their governor – a democrat. If you people in CT want freedom than it’s damn sure well the time to rid yourselves of the communist democrat party and start supporting the constitution of the united states.

  • USMC 64-68

Good, that’s a start. Now kick all of the other anti-American, Marxist democrats to the curb. Their party stands against the Constitution and our individual rights and liberty. They are traitors to America.

  • TORO

This goes much further than “The Right To Bear” it is more like The Right To Breath. The Democrats and other Liberal/Progressives will destroy any and all of the Constitution and your life to get their control over all of us.
Instead of just using our 1st Amendment right to protect our freedom, we need to get out and VOTE for conservatives. Do your own research find out who the TRUE AMERICANS are running for office, and support them. Self righteous B. S. will only go so far.

  • Jimbo Velasquez

    …..and the “Revolution” starts.

  • Buckindaburg

Gunner, you are correct in that many progressive and liberals own and carry…..Sen. Feinstein in California and Rosie O’Donnell on the dark side of the moon….are prime examples. However….they pay little attention to the 2nd amendment. They feel THEY are entitled to carry a firearm because they are so much more significant than anyone else.

    • smitty6398

The witch of the west doesn’t realize that “she’s JUST hired help!”.

  • Buckindaburg

The most divisive law or amendment to our body of laws, was enacted by the 17th amendment. If this country should ever revert back to when states decided and governors appointed U.S. senators….as the original constitution intended….we wouldn’t have people in the senate that spend six terms there and are only out after they enter permanent residence in a cemetery.

  • mrb1

If you want a gun free state then move to one, OH wait I do not know of one. Ask your democrats to buy a city and make it gun free, arrow free, hammer free, knife free (no cutting of meat), car free, and what ever else can kill free.

    • Truth 123

Gun free in Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, etc.

  • nococidences

    Yay.

  • obama-sux

The people that want gun control are the same people who make up the majority in prison. All criminals want gun control. That way they can rob, rape and attack with impunity. Traygone fartin wished Florida had gun control as he drew his last breath.

  • Proudvet56

Way to go ct voters. Maybe, just maybe mind you, we are finally seeing the people wake up, and see just how evil this man in the White House is. We(or his supporters anyway) have put a monster in the seat of power. We have muslim brother hood in top secret military positions, a two bit criminal as an A.G., and pedophiles teaching our children, and the far left loves it. Big mid term coming up in November. We’ll see.

  • tinkerunique

The ONLY thing gun CONTROL laws do is to restrict LEGAL gun owners. Do the “elected elite” think that crooks and street thugs will register their guns ? It is a simple CONTROL issue. What about the revenues that hunting and the shooting sports provide for the states ?

  • Phil

    maybe CT is waking up

  • James in Texas

My heart tells me that the good folks in Connecticut will tell the State to “pound sand” and inform them………”Come and Get them, if you have the courage!” Liberals are not realists, they live in a world of make believe and dreams of Utopia. When the s*#t hits the fan, they always turn to “somebody, anybody” to come and save them. Well, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun! And, those good guys will be the gun owners of Connecticut, Period.

  • Steven Spafford

Hey about time, are Americans actually starting to wake up

  • Dee

I don’t say that all cops are good as I stated in the article. However to make a sweeping generalized statement that all cops are bad is totally wrong also. I don’t like statements like that because it makes every other point useless and loses all credibility. If you are in a situation like you describe, then you had better run for office and get the situation solved, or move!

  • OSAMA OBAMA

You 2nd. Amendment wierdos ! Don’t you know, all you have to do to protect your home, loved ones and lives is 1) put up a “GUN FREE ZONE” sign…and 2) call 911. The Gov’t. is here to protect you.

  • afanaglenn

These democrats will say anything on the pretense they might just get re-elected after this short termer takes his seat. And it is just like Obamacare. To get elected, or re-elected, they are going to run away from Obamacare in the next election, albeit ONCE THEY HAVE CONVINCED voters to re-elect them, they will get back true to form and do everything they can to keep Obamacare on the books.

  • Robert Mallow

You can either support our Constitution or you can choose not to. I heard our local sheriff say and I quote ” He will support our Constitutional Rights under the 2nd Amendment but he has to enforce the state constitution if the legislators vote in stupid gun control laws”. Sorry but our Constitution is the only one I will abide by and if you want to kick my door in and try and confiscate my firearms do so at your own risk. I’m a great shot and I shoot to kill.

  • joebabe

Happy to see that the Constitution is alive and well in Ct. The People still have a natural Right (and obligation) to defend themselves against ALL who would do them or their family bodily harm. As for the cop who can’t wait to Kick in doors and confiscate legal firearms from lawful citizens, I believe HE is a danger to the community, a loose cannon with a badge and should lose his permit to carry a firearm., and have him do traffic control at school crossings so as to keep the children safe. Be alert, folks, there are barbarians at the gate!

  • rifftop

A small glimmer of hope and common sense must have erupted amongst the population. Hope it spreads nation wide, before our economy, rights and well being is completed perverted into euro socialist nightmare.

  • Annie Ironside

I have been reading all your different post about the Police and “Protect and Serve; I worked 911 60 miles north of L.A. a number of years ago. If you expect 24 hour protection, hire a body guard. But when you come home andf find your house has been robbed and you call the police, they will come and take a report and investigate. If someone breaks in the middle of the night, they will show up with lights and siren, your story will be investigated, and depending on the state you may be arrested or it may be declared self-defence homicide. SO USE THE SECOND AMENDMENT AND PROTECT YOURSELF! JUST BE SURE YOU KNOW THE LAW IN YOUR STATE AND STAY WITHIN THOSE LIMIT. THAT KEEPS YOUR BUTT OFF THE HOT SEAT…
