Trump Rejects Deadline, Snubs Democrats

Democrats may think that they can bluster and bully their way into taking control of the nation, but President Donald Trump is more than happy to consistently prove them wrong.

Congressional Democrats had demanded that the IRS hand over Trump’s tax returns by April 10th. But on the day Trump announced once again that he would NOT be releasing his taxes, citing that he was still under audit.

Trump also noted that he was under no obligation to make his finances public and that he had gained the confidence of the American people without revealing the sensitive information.

“There is no law. As you know, I got elected last time with the same issue, and while I’m under audit, I won’t do it,” he said, claiming that was the chief holdup. “If I’m not under audit I would do it, I have no problem with it. Under audit I wouldn’t give my taxes,” Trump said.

Democrat Richard Neal, who is head of the House Ways and Means Committee, imposed the deadline and now will have to decide on whether or not to carry out his threat to subpoena access to Trump’s returns.
