Why in the World is a WWII Museum Losing Its Historic Guns?

7203080_sThe past election cycle might have signaled that the country was turning more red than blue. But that doesn’t mean every election result was favorable to conservatives.

In fact, Michael Bloomberg was granted a pretty significant victory after pumping $4 million dollars into Washington state where he managed to stick it to gun owners.

The measure that passed required background checks on all sales of weapons. And one World War II Museum fears that the new law will cause huge legal issues so they’re feeling forced to get rid of their guns to avoid the potential ramifications.

Here’s what they wrote on their Facebook page about the new law and its consequences:

The Lynden Pioneer Museum would like everyone to know that even though we have to return some unique WW2 era firearms to their owners on Dec 3rd, the remainder of the Pacific War Exhibit will continue to be displayed through May 1.

If you would like to see some of these very rare and unique firearms then please be sure to come by the museum prior to Dec 3rd.

The museum will be returning these guns to their owners because as of Dec 4th, we would be in violation of the law if we had loaned firearms that had not undergone the background check procedure. Nor would we be able to return those firearms unless the owners completed the back ground check procedure.

Hopefully the state will find a way with initiative 594 to allow museums the option of having guns loaned for display without the heavy financial burden that will go with the transfer process outlined in initiative 594.

Though it seems like they might be overreacting, Troy Luginbill, the museum’s director believes it’s the right decision. As he said, “I read through the law about 10 different times looking for a loophole.”

He hopes their might be a reversal in the decision. Luginbill said, “We have elected to comply with the law as we understand it… The ideal situation would be if someone comes along from the state and says, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ If that happens before May 1, we can put the guns back on display.”

If this sounds ridiculous, that’s because it is. To even think that background checks stop gun crime is ludicrous at best. But Dems are unrelenting as they attack second amendment rights.

If what Obama just did with illegal immigration is any indication, he’s fine with overstepping his executive power and stripping you of your rights.

What happens if he uses an executive order to take your guns away? Would you know how to keep you and your family safe?
